After Surgery
As the anesthesia wears off, noises may sound louder than normal. You may have blurry vision, a dry mouth and chills. Your vital signs are watched closely and your bandages are checked. You may still have an IV or drainage tubes. If you hurt, ask the nurse for pain medication.
- When you are ready to be dismissed, your nurse will go over the home care instructions with you and another responsible person. You will be given a written copy of these instructions to take home.
- A nurse will call you at home the day following Surgery (or Monday after a Friday surgery). It is important for us to know how you are feeling and progressing after surgery.
